Herons in the time of Covid-19

In the early days of Covid, I began to visit  a local heronry that had over 50 nests of heron families. I would travel in the early mornings about 45 minutes from home. At the time we were only expected to leave home for essentials like groceries or medical issues. For me, this heronry became essential to my well-being and I went there a few times a week and witnessed the entire life cycle from the courtship scenes such as this one to the end when the babies get too big to fit in the nest and to be fed by the tired parents.
