GALLERY: Passages
As part of the Covid cohort at the School of the Photographic Arts: Ottawa, my world became much smaller due to the pandemic lockdowns and other restrictions. During this time, we also decided to sell our home on the shores of the historic Rideau River. The invasive development all around and adjacent to us will erode the quality of what we saw as an idyllic haven.
So out of the need to stay close to home while paradoxically pondering leaving it forever arose the opportunity to celebrate the intimate landscapes I have treasured during our time here.
Passages thus pays homage to a time and place that will never be again and to moments that might have gone unnoticed.
The platinum palladium and cyanotype processes imbue a sense of timelessness and immortalize these vignettes.
